My First Big Customer

Founded in 2010 by Jane Leonard, Really Useful Training and Development is a boutique marketing agency focused on helping companies build sustainable business and social media strategies. We don’t believe in short cuts and we don’t believe in doing something just because everyone else is doing it. That’s why we start with identifying your goals for your business, the realities of your budget and the time constraint of your staff. Then we can work with you to develop sustainable online and offline strategies that are both measurable and achievable.

Jane has conducted research on entrepreneurship and presented her findings at the International conference on Small Business, Her Smart Agri food conference was named as one of the 5 most interesting events in Cork during the Startup Gathering 2015.

Looking for ways to land that first big customer of yours? Look no further. Tonight's entrepreneurs will share how they got 'their first break', meaning: the first contract and payment that got them over the initial stages of starting a business.

We hear a lot of 'help' is given to young businesses, but it is really true? Are you presented to potential customers and leads? And how many established businesses are out there really willing to buy products and services from a 'new' company?

What to do as a starter and good tendering RFT require 3 years accounts and turnover of 100k? How does a start-up actually 'survive' the first year?

Speakers:

Trevor Koen, Trevor is one of the founding partners of Imperic Media, a digital agency working with brands to improve the performance of their paid and owned media across the globe. In his talk, he will be taking you on an honest journey through the lessons and events that led to Imperic Media landing their first fortune 500 client, as well as their approach to winning new customers and how it has changed as they evolved the business.
